This Tiger Swallowtail fluttered through my yard a while ago and sat nicely for a picture! They are such large and beautiful butterflies! What a treat to watch them in Spring. Spring has past and Summer is on its way. One more week of school for my kids. Have a great summer!

According to the date of my last post it has been a week shy of a year since I have posted anything. Wow, what happened? I got caught in the whirpool of a very busy schedule and my free time was spent on important things like eating and sleeping. Anyway, to whoever might care, which is probably no one, I wanted to post some pictures I have collected of the Moon. I took these with my camera here at my house. I did not use a tripod or anything so it is remarkable that they are as clear as they are. I do notice the Moon and it's phases a lot and enjoy it's beauty. I have never howled at the Moon but admit it is tempting.
I have wondered why our Moon does not have a name really; just the Moon. Other planet's moons have cool names or at least a number to identify it but not ours. It is just the Moon. So sad.

Crater Lake

This past weekend I took the kids up to Oregon to visit family for a few days. Oregon is a beautiful state with it's forests and rivers. We went up to Crater Lake for an afternoon. Crater Lake is just awesome and huge and beautiful! I had seen it once before but it was cool to go again. I got a kick out of the chipmunks there. They are the boldest chipmunks I have ever seen. They expect snacks from the visitors and if you don't give them any they would probably gang up on you and throw you over the edge. They probably all have high cholesterol from all the snack food they eat! If you have a chance go see Crater Lake, you will not be disappointed.
